[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Grupo Pistacyl has been awarded the 2025 Fernando de Antequera Award, granted by the Medina del Campo City Council to recognize the effort, trajectory, and talent of businesses and shops in this town in Valladolid province and its surrounding region.

The awards ceremony took place on December 4th at a gala held in the Emiliano Allende Auditorium, highlighting the key role of Medina del Campo’s business community in the town’s economic, social, and employment progress.

Alfredo and Raquel Pérez Heras, members of the founding family of Grupo Pistacyl, accepted the Fernando de Antequera Award in the Entrepreneurs category, an award that, as they emphasized, “makes us very happy, since it’s an award given in our hometown and by our people.” They also noted that this award “reaffirms one of the values we are most proud of: our deep connection to our land and our origins.”

During the gala, two other long-established businesses in the town were also honored: Loyu 2000, which received the Business Excellence Award, and the El Canario wine and spirits shop, recognized for its Professional Trajectory.

The Rodrigo de Dueñas Scholarship was also awarded to promote youth talent, creativity, and young people’s commitment to the economic, social, and environmental development of the region. The winning project was ‘Hydroponic Greenhouse for Fresh Fodder in Medina del Campo,’ by Alberto Navas Crehuet.

The gala also featured a special appearance by journalist Anne Igartiburu, who gave a talk focusing on the value of entrepreneurship, economic activity, leadership, and innovation as pillars of local development. The 2025 Fernando de Antequera Award was launched by the Local Development Department of the Medina del Campo City Council, coordinated by Councilor Patricia Carreño, in collaboration with the Círculo de Progreso (Circle of Progress), chaired by José Manuel Fernández.

These awards originated in the mid-2000s. After several editions held between 2005 and 2013, the awards were put on hold.

In 2025, the city council decided to revive this historic distinction, updating it to meet current challenges and adapting it to a more diverse, innovative, and globally open business landscape. The aim is to recognize the efforts of those who create jobs, appreciate the resilience and adaptability of local businesses, showcase new initiatives and emerging ventures, and strengthen the sense of economic and business community in Medina del Campo and its surrounding region.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
